What is it really like to be a blogger \u2013 is it a dream job or hard work? From the outside, the life of a blogger seems exciting \u2013 collaborations, travel, glamorous events, and lots of freebies. But is it really that easy to be successful with a blog? When people think of bloggers, they often picture a pretty person who has nothing better to do than take selfies all day. Many believe it\u2019s the easiest job in the world, while experienced bloggers say it requires hard work and perseverance. Since I started blogging myself, I know: it\u2019s anything but easy. Today, I\u2019m taking you behind the scenes to show you what it really means to work as a fashion blogger.<\/p>\r\n

HIGH-QUALITY CONTENT TAKES A LOT OF WORK<\/h3>\r\n

I love my job as a blogger. But it\u2019s the most demanding and complex job I\u2019ve ever had \u2013 and my previous jobs weren\u2019t easy either. Anyone who thinks a blog fills itself with content is mistaken. High-quality content requires a lot of planning, preparation, creativity, and extensive content creation \u2013 from photos and videos to text development, project management, SEO optimization, and much more. Being a blogger means combining multiple professions into one. When I create a blog post, I\u2019m primarily an art director, thinking about how the photos should look, where they should be shot, and what message I want to convey visually. Then comes makeup and hairstyling \u2013 something I always do myself. Next, we head to a location<\/a> (or even fly there, depending on the content or collaboration), and the photos are taken. And that\u2019s no easy task \u2013 anyone who has spent 2\u20133 hours in front of a camera knows what I mean.<\/p>\r\n

After that, I move on to photo editing, which takes a lot of time. After a shoot, I select the best shots and then develop a cohesive look to create a consistent aesthetic. Some bloggers automate their editing processes, but I\u2019m not a fan \u2013 every shoot is different, with varying lighting conditions and colors. That\u2019s why I focus on individual editing rather than mass production. Afterward, I optimize the images for the blog and various social media platforms, ensuring that SEO is in place so my blog post can be easily found on Google.<\/p>\r\n

Blogging isn\u2019t just about writing \u2013 it also includes managing social media. Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest \u2013 all these platforms need to be consistently updated with high-quality content. In addition, I respond to collaboration inquiries and plan new projects. A typical workday often lasts eight hours or more \u2013 seven days a week. Weekends or holidays? They barely exist in this profession. Only those who are truly passionate about their blog stick with it in the long run. Especially in the beginning, you have to invest a lot of time in your blog \u2013 you need a lot of content to be visible to readers and, of course, to constantly learn new things. If you also have a full-time job (which is common in the early stages) or a family, balancing your dream of having a blog with reality can be a real challenge.<\/p>\r\n

Many see fashion blogging as the perfect dream job: beautiful clothes, travel, exciting events. And yes, there are those glamorous moments. But behind them, there is much more \u2013 organization, hard work, and often frustration. Anyone who wants to be successful in the long term needs patience, discipline, and a great passion for content creation. Whether fashion blogging is truly a dream job depends on how much effort you are willing to put in. Is it worth it? \u2013 That\u2019s what many would probably ask.<\/p>\r\n

A fashion blog requires a lot of work, especially when you do it with as much passion and attention to detail as I do. It takes a great deal of knowledge and skill \u2013 my previous career in advertising as a graphic designer and art director has helped me a lot. Still, I had to learn so much more and, most importantly, figure out how to organize myself so that everything runs smoothly while still making room for my personal life. Being a blogger requires discipline, organizational skills, and endurance. Your mind is never completely free \u2013 even while sitting in a sunny caf\u00e9, you\u2019re already thinking about the next blog post. Meals are often eaten cold because there simply isn\u2019t enough time \u2013 many times, a quick story is posted from the restaurant table. I write texts on flights, edit pictures in hotel beds at night, and sometimes even respond to collaboration requests from the bathtub to save time. Does that still sound like a dream job?<\/p>\r\n

The life of a blogger is packed with appointments, and there are no vacations or holidays \u2013 content has to be published. And yet, I would still say that it\u2019s my dream job and the best job in the world. Because it brings so much variety, new experiences, and excitement that you rarely find in any other profession. And sometimes, you experience sweet little surprises like the one that happened during an outfit shoot in Salzburg.<\/p>\r\n

A FASHION DOG AS A SWEET SURPRISE<\/h3>\r\n

For our latest shoot for mister*lady<\/a>, we traveled to Salzburg to photograph an off-the-shoulder top. Salzburg immediately enchanted me \u2013 the city is incredibly charming and feels like a step back into the 17th century, as if time has stood still there. During the shoot, something unexpected happened: while I was posing in front of the camera, two girls walked by with a black dog and asked me if I wanted to include him in the photos. Of course, I couldn\u2019t resist! We laughed a lot, and the girls were just the sweetest! They handed me the leash, and for a few minutes, I wasn\u2019t posing alone in front of the camera \u2013 I had a little four-legged fashion model by my side.<\/p>\r\n

The dog played along perfectly, and in the end, we not only got great pictures but also a beautiful memory. I\u2019m incredibly grateful to the two girls for their spontaneous idea \u2013 we all had so much fun: them watching, me working, and the little pup as the secret star of the shoot. And it\u2019s moments like these that make blogging an absolute dream job.<\/p>\r\n
