It\u2019s how we send social signals, reveal our identity, and tell the world which stage of life we\u2019re in. For a while, I was obsessed with my ripped jeans that had crooked nails sewn onto them. Yes, just like the nails you\u2019d find at a hardware store \u2014 Diesel once released a design like this. I loved those jeans because they perfectly reflected what I was striving for at the time: a rebellious break from the conventional role of mother and wife to an artist, traveling across Europe with tripods, lenses, an analog camera, and all kinds of 35mm film<\/a>. Dressing warmly doesn\u2019t mean you need to wrap yourself in thick fabrics or layer up like an onion. There\u2019s a wonderful solution for the cold months: silk, cashmere or wool.
