Or better yet \u2014 on a movie set, and everything around us was just part of the scenery. Or, even better \u2014 it felt like being in a fairytale. The former Friedrichshof Castle was built for the German Empress Victoria, Queen of Prussia, and daughter of British Queen Victoria, designed in the style of English country estates. After World War II, following extensive renovations and restorations, Friedrichshof Castle was transformed into Schlosshotel Kronberg. When you\u2019ve been driving around Sicily for a while, you mentally \u201cwild out\u201d a bit, as Sicily, especially in the west, leaves its mark with its authentic, untamed character. In contrast, Schlosshotel Kronberg is the complete opposite of Sicily\u2019s colorful, loud, and unpredictable world. But that\u2019s exactly what I love about our travels: the contrasts that sometimes pop up unexpectedly. Countless roses were blooming all at once, creating a stunning sea of flowers. I have a special weakness for gardens like these, as I grew up in a house surrounded by roses. But that\u2019s not all: the castle also has a golf course, designed in the style of a traditional English garden, and it\u2019s definitely one of the most beautiful golf courses in Germany. What I\u2019m definitely planning to explore on my next visit is the Beauty Cottage \u2014 a beauty farm offering exclusive treatments.
