French Apple Tart | Gluten-Free Recipe

How about a quick, yet incredibly delicious French apple tart? I love tarts. As soon as I see one in a café, I’m instantly drawn to it and enchanted. I even once thought about traveling through France to collect various tart recipes and recreate them. There are surely many I haven’t discovered yet. But today, I’m sharing a classic tart with you. French apple tart is one of my all-time favorite desserts!

To make the tart crust especially light and flavorful, I always use gluten-free flour for my tarts. You can find gluten-free flour in any supermarket. My favorite is the light organic flour mix. And the best part about apple tarts—they’re super quick to make! Knead the dough (the mixer does this for you, haha), slice the apples, pop it in the oven, done! It doesn’t get easier than that, right?

Preparation
  • FMix flour, powdered sugar, a pinch of salt, and butter cut into small pieces.
  • Beat the egg, add it in, and mix everything with a mixer using the dough hooks to form a dough.
  • Once the dough is well kneaded, shape it into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and let it rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  • Lightly butter the tart pans and line them with the chilled dough, about 0.5 to 1 cm thick. Prick the dough several times with a fork.
  • Quarter the apples and slice them thinly. Drizzle them with lemon juice and arrange them on the dough. Dot with small pieces of butter and bake on the middle rack for about 20 minutes.

Sprinkle the tarts with powdered sugar and serve warm. Bon appétit!
