DIY Unicorn Birthday Cards | Tutorial
Just before her birthday, my daughter asked if we could get some birthday cards so she could invite her favorite friends to her party. Instead of buying them from the local store again, I thought about making some myself — it’s so much more personal and fun to create something like this. Then, I remembered the ever-present unicorn trend. All parents with daughters are likely familiar with it — there’s that pink-glitter-unicorn phase in every girl’s life. And unicorn-themed birthday cards fit perfectly!

Historians will probably look back on this time in a few centuries and refer to it as the “Unicorn Era.” Unicorns are everywhere—on pencil cases, bed sheets, mugs. Clothes, shoes, and even band-aids are branded with them. So why leave them off the birthday cards? For a while, I resisted the unicorn fever, but eventually, it got to me too: unicorns are simply adorable! That’s why we chose them as the theme for the birthday cards.

It’s really easy to make these unicorn birthday cards yourself—it doesn’t take much time. We spent a maximum of 30 minutes cutting, gluing, and finishing everything! The glue needs to dry overnight, but after that, you’ll have the most unique and beautiful birthday cards ever. To make things easier, I uploaded a template here for you to cut out. You can simply print it and cut it out — crafting becomes even more fun this way!

DIY TUTORIAL | UNICORN BIRTHDAY CARDS
- ZFirst, cut out the unicorn head from the white foam sheet using Template No. 1.
- Next, cut out the ears from the pearly foam sheet using Template No. 2 and glue them onto the head.
- Using the glittery foam sheet, cut out the mane with Template No. 3 and glue that to the head as well.
- Do the same with the horn and snout using the purple glitter foam sheet—Template No. 4.
- Cut a card from the folded pink cardstock, measuring 9.5 x 16 cm (folded), and glue the unicorn slightly toward the top left of the card.
- Finally, write “Unicorn Birthday” on the card with a glitter marker. We used different colors of glitter markers for each birthday card to give each one a unique touch.
And your unicorn birthday cards are done! 🎉🦄
